An inner courtyard is transformed into a residential complex designed to maximize comfort and quality of life. The layout preserves the existing greenery and offers an open, safe, and pleasant environment for all residents.
The positioning of the buildings respects the site’s natural heritage, including notable trees and the green backdrop. Two compact structures minimize the building footprint while shaping volumes according to the surrounding vegetation and built context, creating a harmonious and light-filled environment for the housing units.
The VOLTA buildings are clearly identifiable and structuring within the site. Ground-floor units enjoy privacy through set-back planted areas and private garden façades. Apartments are organized as simplex units, facilitating accessibility for people with reduced mobility and optimizing floor areas. All units are at least cross-ventilated, and thanks to the non-adjacent placement of the two buildings, many apartments benefit from three façades.
The restructured outdoor areas include a shared garden, a vegetable garden with composting, children’s play areas, and wide, welcoming walkways that encourage social interaction. A bike pavilion and the enhancement of existing vegetation complete the amenities, contributing to a pleasant and stimulating living environment for residents.
