The former Saint-Anne Clinic block in Anderlecht has been transformed into a mixed-use complex open to the neighborhood, combining housing, healthcare services, education, and social dining. The project preserves the memory of the site while opening it widely to its surroundings, giving this central location an active role in urban and community life.
A two-level through entrance and new landscaping invite passersby and residents into the site. Steps and permeable surfaces enhance conviviality and recall the identity of the place.
The former ambulance passage becomes a bright and welcoming “interior street.” This new semi-public space houses a food bank, a social restaurant, multipurpose rooms, association offices, and local shops.
By strategically opening the building envelope, the project multiplies access points to the three circulation cores serving the residential units. Each entrance, opening onto the street, includes mailboxes, bicycle storage, and technical rooms, ensuring comfort and safety for residents.
The site offers 51 housing units linked to social associations, support services for people with intellectual disabilities, a reception office for newcomers, and community spaces. More than a real estate project, it is a place of solidarity and social interaction.
