The proposal reinvents a fragmented and confusing site into a true urban ecosystem, where children, residents, athletes, shops, and natural spaces coexist. A central promenade links all functions, creating a place that is legible, lively, and welcoming.
The creation of a public alley connecting Avenue du Couronnement to Rue Georges Henri structures the entire site. This civic axis becomes the true spine of the neighborhood—open, green, and luminous. It organizes the different spaces and facilitates pedestrian circulation while removing cars from the heart of the site.
Along the alley, the project’s main functions unfold: infiltration swales and educational ponds, cafeteria and gym, school playgrounds, redesigned park, library, and market hall. Each space is unique yet complementary, allowing for the harmonious coexistence of multiple uses—from sports and leisure to education and economic activities.
The promenade extends to Georges Henri garden square and the Métairie, offering shared, green spaces. Open areas encourage interaction, relaxation, and neighborhood life, while integrating residential and commercial functions in a calm environment.
The project emphasizes nature and sustainability: swales and ponds manage stormwater, green areas connect various functions, and glazed façades along the promenade reinforce the connection between interior and exterior. Overall, the site becomes ecological, flexible, and conducive to collective life.
